As more data is being shared amongst entities and use of that is to train Artificial intelligence (AI) systems then new agreements in contracts need to be installed.

Within the contract there needs to be clauses that specifically outline

  • That data is being used to train an AI system
  • Data sharing and what to do with researching findings

So if going into an agreement with different businesses how would we write this into a section?

Data Usage for Artificial Intelligence:

To advance our artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, Entity_A seeks
to utilize specific data provided by Entity_B exclusively for the purpose
of training and enhancing our AI systems. We emphasize that this data will
not be disclosed to any third parties and will be managed in strict compliance
with all relevant data protection and privacy regulations.

In this clause, what we state that the data is boing to be used to train the AI but the data won’t be shared to other entities. Data will be protected.

Next clause is the Data sharing.

Data Sharing and Collaboration

In line with our commitment to transparency and mutual benefit, we intend
to share insights and findings derived from the use of your data for
AI training exclusively with Entity_B. This exchange of knowledge
and insights will enable both organizations to maximize the value derived
from our partnership.

Value is defined as to what adheres to majority of the people and what they define as value. In the case of customers, what will they buy?

Information about the the AI can predict is of value to other people especially in this day and age.

Hope this helps the drafting of such agreements in the sharing/acquiring of data especially chemical.

Happy Cheminformatics!
